Program for State Dinner Honoring Prime Minister of Italy

This is the third page of an entertainment program for a State Dinner hosted by President Richard M. Nixon in honor of Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti of Italy, and his wife, Livia Danese, on April 17, 1973. Following dinner in the State Dining Room, guests transitioned to the East Room for entertainment by singer Frank Sinatra. Sinatra would return to White House on multiple occasions to perform during the administration of Ronald Reagan. He entertained Italian President Alessandro Pertini at a State Dinner on March 25, 1982, performed at a State Dinner in honor of President Junius Richard Jayewardene of Sri Lanka on June 18, 1984, and sang with First Lady Nancy Reagan during her "To Love a Child" luncheon in 1982 to raise awareness of foster grandparenting. This program is part of a personal collection belonging to former White House Executive Chef Henry Haller. As executive chef from 1966-1987, Haller oversaw the menus for over 250 State Dinners at the White House. To view the complete program, see 1126676.
